Within the European policies, the growing importance of the territorial cooperation makes necessary the creation of networks to elaborate and plan efficient strategies for the local development supporting decentralized processes, that are carried out in the Member States and, at the same time, the establishment of territorial partnerships at the cross border, transnational and interregional levels between neighbour territories.

Establishing Arco Association, we are realized a structure, as flexible as challenging, with the priority objective to create a system of territorial bodies belonging to the NUTS III level and to the Adriatic and Ionian regions, with common needs and capabilities. Between its aims, Arco Adriatico Ionico would like to compare itself with similar experiences implemented in the European Union and in the South-East European countries.  

Arco represents an useful instrument supporting the European integration process and combating divisions and social and economic disparities in an Enlarged Europe and that has started, even if with fatigue, the accession path of the Western Balkan countries.

Work and determination are basic conditions for a good implementation of this project, as ambitious as feasible, and Arco is here giving an evidence.
